Groups
Please make an individual appointment for group tours as private tours. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at or +41 44 268 64 18.

Persons With Reduced Mobility
The Opera House, as well as the adjacent extension building, has long corridors and many stairs. A lot of walking is required during a 60-minute tour and there is not always seating available.
Due to the daily changing rehearsal schedule, every day looks different at Zurich Opera House. This can sometimes lead to changes in your tour at short notice.

Bringing Dogs
Dogs are not permitted on our Opera House tours. Not on a leash and not in a bag. The backstage area of the opera house is cramped and many people work together here in a very small space. In order not to burden this togetherness, no dogs are allowed on backstage tours. This is in accordance with the wishes of our staff, whom we look over our shoulders during backstage tours. We ask for your understanding.

Private tours

Lasting 1.5 hours, the tour will take you onto the stage, past the props, make-up and dressmaking departments, into the costume depository as well as the Opera House’s furniture and stage-set warehouses. Individual appointments can be made for tours of the Opera House in German, French, Italian and English. In principle, private tours can be booked in the afternoons between 1 and 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Price per tour (for groups of up to 12-15): CHF 180. Please note that our tours are a public service and cannot be booked by companies.
