Abstract
«Who is this woman who played the piano so well?» As a young student, Ragna Schirmer asked herself this question for the first time over thirty years ago. Today, she is a sought-after specialist in the work of Clara Schumann, whose compositions and programmes she has studied, recorded and performed at many original concert venues. Ragna Schirmer can now be heard as a piano soloist in Cathy Marston's ballet Clara. In the discussion concert on 3 November, she will talk to Michael Küster about Clara Schumann and Robert's wives and play Robert Schumann's Carnaval op. 9 in a version by Clara Schumann.
