Abstract
As a professional dance education with the focus on Classical Academic Dance, the Zurich Dance Academy prepares talented, young people for their future career as stage dancers. Vocational training begins approximately at the age of 11-12 with the basic studies, which is coordinated with the school education and is transferred to the vocational education, the main course, at the age of about 16. The apprenticeship ends with the Swiss certificate «Bühnentänzerin / Bühnentänzer, EFZ», a recognized professional qualification. At present, students from Switzerland, Europe and overseas are taking advantage of the high-quality training offered by Steffi Scherzer and Oliver Matz. A highly qualified and professional team of lecturers with international reputations is responsible for the daily teaching. In addition to the most prestigious international ballet schools, the Zurich Dance Academy is partnered with the world-renowned dance and ballet competitions «Prix de Lausanne», «Youth America Grand Prix» and «Tanzolymp Berlin».
