The ballet evening "Slow Rush" explores opposites: speed versus slowness. One of the works is "Last Touch First" by Jiří Kylián and Michael Schumacher (2003), in which six characters move in slow motion through a fin-de-siècle interior, evoking the worlds of Chekhov and Ibsen. In contrast, Stephanie Lake creates a fast-paced, energetic work set to music by Robin Fox. In her creations, the Canadian-Australian choreographer explores the relationship between the individual and the collective.

Over the course of four evenings, participants will immerse themselves in two distinct choreographic styles, compare old and new, and discover similarities and differences. The workshop series offers a practical, movement-based approach to the choreographic works. Through improvisation and dance, participants become acquainted with the artistic signatures of the two choreographers. Dancers from Zurich Ballet will also provide insights into the creation and background of the pieces, and, of course, the programme includes a shared visit to the ballet performance.

No previous dance experience is required. Participants should wear comfortable or training clothing. Please note that changing rooms and showers are not available.
