Abstract
The Junior Ballet’s new programme is created in close dialogue with the Kunsthaus Zürich and the Kunstmuseum Winterthur. Following the great response to "The Butterfly Effect", a collaboration with climate scientists from ETH Zurich, Zurich Ballet Director Cathy Marston considers it a special priority to engage in further creative exchange with renowned institutions in the city and canton of Zurich. The two museums, with their inexhaustible wealth of artworks from many different eras, become a meeting place for the two choreographers and the 14 dancers of the Junior Ballet. Through joint visits to the exhibition spaces and in communicative exchange with art experts from both institutions, they gain inspiration for two new choreographies. Aleix Martínez, originally from Barcelona and a principal dancer with the Hamburg Ballet, and the American Houston Thomas, until 2023 a soloist with the Dresden Semperoper Ballet, are both at the beginning of promising choreographic careers.
